The
Horizons Expo Steering Committee works within the
structure of the Washington Ireland Program Alumni
Network (WIPAN).
Colin Andrews: Participants
Colin, a member of the 2002 class
of the Young Leaders Program, as it was then known,
is a graduate of Trinity College, Dublin. He pursued
a joint honours degree in Economics and Political
Science, and went on to undertake a research masters
in Economics, on aspects of globalisation and inequality,
finishing his studies in late 2002. Having researched
for Mr. Peter Sutherland after his postgraduate studies,
he is currently working as a research assistant to
Mr. Tom Arnold, CEO of Concern.
Aideen Keenan: Participants
Aideen is a fellow member of the 2002
Class. She graduated from DCU in 2002 with a degree
in International Business, German and French. Her
internship in Washington was as a lobbyist for Battelle.
Having worked in both Edinburgh and Cork in recent
years, she currently works as a Project Manager in
Marketing for the German-Irish Chamber of Industry
and Commerce in Dublin.
Aidan Corbett: Public Relations
Aidan is a member of the 2005 WIP
Class. He graduated from UCC in 2005 with a degree
Electrical and Electronic Engineering. His internship
in Washington was with the United States Conferene
of Catholic Bishops. He is currently working in the
DCU Educational Trust as part of their fundraising
team.
Ronan Lyons: Finance & Logistics
Ronan participated in the Washington-Ireland
Program in 2002, interning with Donald Payne in the
US Congress, and was Chair of the WIP Alumni Network
for 2004/05. He graduated from Trinity College Dublin
in 2002 with a first-class honours degree in Economics
and Political Science, having also been elected a
Scholar of the College in 2000. He holds an M.Econ.Sc.
(2005) and will shortly submit a thesis on interwar
deglobalization and income inequality, for his M.Litt.
He is currently working as an Economist with the National
Competitiveness Department at Forfás, having
formerly served as a Junior Diplomat with Irish Aid
in the Department of Foreign Affairs.
